Desk Lift Upgrade?
I’m thinking about turning my regular work desk into a height-adjustable one, but I don’t want to buy a whole new setup. Has anyone here tried adding an actuator system under an existing tabletop? I’m trying to figure out if it's doable without needing a workshop-level skill set.

For converting a fixed desk into a lifting one, the easiest route is using an electric actuators setup. The key advantage is that they’re designed for custom DIY builds, so you can mount them under almost any tabletop, as long as the frame is sturdy. The wiring is straightforward — just a control box and a switch. The actuator handles the lifting smoothly and can support surprisingly heavy loads. I’ve had mine running for months and it’s been completely reliable, even with dual monitors. You’ll just need to measure the stroke length you want and match it to the desk height difference you’re going for. Honestly, it’s easier than it seems at first glance.
