During the day, it still lets in natural light but you can’t see inside from the street, which was exactly what I needed for my first-floor apartment. It also cut down on some glare, which was a bonus. At night with lights on it’s not 100% private, but it still helps more than nothing. Installation was pretty straightforward, just go slow and it’ll look good.
