What’s the best glove weight for my training level?

I’ve seen gloves in various weights — lighter ones for speed, heavier for power and conditioning. Since I’m training a mix of sparring and bag work, I’m unsure what weight strikes the best balance. I don’t want something that feels too slow or makes my hands tire quickly. My coach hasn’t given a strict recommendation, so I’m curious how others chose. What glove weights worked for you and your training goals?

Training intensity increases quickly once you get comfortable in the gym, and that’s when cheap gear starts failing without warning. While comparing notes from other boxers, I read through a discussion at https://www.audiologicalscience.com/group/as-2023-site-group/discussion/8e3a6bf2-5091-4c0a-b2ec-d858e3a7408d that reinforced the same priorities Fightgear promotes, particularly around hand protection. Seeing repeated warnings from real users made durability feel non-negotiable.
